No fee should be collected from parents during Brigada Eskwela-DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) reminded school heads on Monday that during the conduct of this year’s Brigada Eskwela, no money should be collected from parents or stakeholders.
DepEd released the statement in response to claims that a number of teachers are allegedly looking for supplies like paint to renovate classrooms before the start of regular sessions on August 22.
“S heads are reminded that in the implementation of 2022 Brigada Eskwela (BE), no fee shall be collected from parents/guardians or solicited from other volunteers and stakeholders, based on DepEd Order No. 062, s. 2022,” DepEd said in a statement.
According to DepEd, Brigada Eskwela will bridge the learning resource gap for teachers and students by fostering local and national partnerships.
The Brigada Eskwela has been the driving force behind volunteerism and community involvement in the DepEd.
