Government may pass Bayanihan 3 Law

If the national budget for this year is not adequate to help those affected citizens of the recent typhoons that hit the country, the government may pass third version of the Bayanihan Law. (The Bayanihan 3)
“Tingnan muna natin, kagaya ng sinabi ni Secretary Dominguez, kung anong lalabas dito sa budget na binubuo ngayon ng Kongreso. Kung mayroon pong kakulangan ay pwede naman pong magpasa ulit ng Bayanihan 3”, Spokesman Harry Roque said.
He gave the statement after Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto brought out the
possibility of passing another Bayanihan Law this year.
“If we were quick to act for a Bayanihan 1 and 2 for the pandemic, why not have a Bayanihan 3 for this typhoon?” Recto said.

budget, Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara 3rd said that he is more than willing to deliberate another bayanihan bill.
“If for instance, a special session is called if needed, then that would be a possibility,” Angara said.
Recto was positive that the senators could converse Bayanihan 3 as he expected that the
budget bill might be approved “within the week.”
“I am one with the chairman to pass this budget by Friday, second and third reading, so there should be enough time to pass a supplemental budget if necessary or Bayanihan 3 not only for the pandemic but for those affected by the most recent typhoons,” he said.
The Bayanihan 1, Republic Act 11469 or :Bayanihan to Heal As One Act,” which allowed President Rodrigo Duterte additional authorities to respond to the pandemic, such as the authority to readjust items under the 2020 national budget, was signed on March 25 and was in effect until June.
Bayanihan 2, Republic Act 11494 or the “Bayanihan to Recover As One Act,” meanwhile, allows the executive branch to use up to P165 billion for Covid-19-related projects until Dec. 19, 2020.
