11 Public School Teachers/ personnel Positive for COVID-19

Region 7 Regional Director Salustiano T. Jimenez confirmed the report about the teachers and DepEd personnel with COVID-19 cases.
Department of Education Region 7 recorded 11 teachers and personnel positive with COVID-19 and 2 of them already died from the virus.
The 2 public school teachers who died were both from Cebu City. The rest of the positive cases are all asymptomatic and under close monitoring.
Region 7 Dir. Jimenez said that the 2 teachers who probably got the virus from the community as Cebu City became the hotspot of the virus lately. He added that the Region will extend assistance to the family.
‘DepEd will still allow the usage of school as an isolation facility while classes are still on hold, but rest assured that schools will be disinfected before it will be used by teachers and students’, Director Jimenez added.
