May 28, 2020- Department of Education Secretary Leonor M. Briones said that there is no debate between the pronouncement of the President and the DepEd.
President Rodrigo Duterte rejected moves to open the upcoming school year in August. He said unless the vaccine is available, he would not allow children to physically attend class. These were his words during May 25 briefing with his officials.
“Classes will remain suspended in the country until a vaccine against COVID-19 is made available,” he said.
She added that Deped’s programs are consistent with that of the President.
