Palace declared June 5, 2019 as a regular hiday for the celebration of Eid’l Fitr.
President Rodrigo Duterte signs proclamation no. 729, declaring June 5, 2019 ( Wednesday) a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr. It was the National Commission who recommended to the President to declare June 5 as a holiday.
It is a special day celebrated by our Muslim brothers and sisters. It marks the end of Ramadan which started on May 6. Eid’l Fitr calls for spiritual reflection. It includes praying, fasting and abstaining from sinful behavior.
“The entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr,” the President said.
