The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday released the school calendar and activities for School Year 2021—2022 amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

DepEd previously announced that classes will start on September 13, 2021, and end on June 24, 2022. This is composed of 209 days, inclusive of Saturdays, and the five-day mid-year break.

“With the compressed school year, the conduct of distance learning activities for learners on Saturday is authorized,” DepEd said.

“Should religious considerations prevent activities on Saturday, they may be conducted on a Sunday. Nonetheless, teachers will not be required to render service on Saturdays and Sundays,” it added.
